Jamie's Italian at Pitt Street | Sydney

Jamie's Italian @ Pitt Street
We spent almost half a day at Taronga Zoo and back to the city around 4pm plus. We then headed to Pitt Street to look for the Pandora concept store (because I only can get the charm for my Pandora Essence bracelet at the their concept store). When we told our friend that we're at Pitt Street, she recommended us to try out Jamie's Italian by the none other than the well known chef, Jamie Oliver.

Thanks to the Google maps and data plan that we had in Sydney, we managed to find this restaurant in time. Jamie's Italian was founded in Oxford just four years ago. Since then it has grown to more than 30 restaurants worldwide, and there are already plans for even more in new towns, counties and continents around the world. This particular one in Pitt Street was just opened two years ago and the restaurant was really amazingly packed with diners.

Jamie's Italian offers quite an extensive menu for their patrons. To kid you not, the price of the foods and beverages on the menu were pretty reasonable (without converting the currency exchange rates) too! We settled with four dishes to share with each other.

Special Menu - A$15
This is the special menu of the night, which is not on the menu. It may be just another ordinary pasta with tomato puree as the base, but it tasted really delicious, especially when the pasta were cooked perfect al dente and it is rich in flavor too!

Lamb & Ricotta Tortellini ravioli - A$14.50
Since Jamie Oliver is famous for his various pasta, we also ordered the Lamb & Ricotta Tortellini ravioli for our dinner on that night. Boy, it was really good! The delicate parcels stuffed with braised Aussie lamb, creamy ricotta, lemon, mint with crunchy and herby breadcrumbs. The joy of having the juicy fillings burst in your mouth, such a bliss!

Bone-in Prime Strip Loin - A$32
It was our 5th day in Sydney and we have yet to try any steak, the boys been craving for a good steak in town. The 350g pasture-fed Aussie Black Angus Bone-in Prime Strip Loin served with wild mushrooms and peppery endives. We requested ours to be done in medium-rare, but it was cooked medium well and over charred. Grey then informed the waitress and we get to change it for new one. Juicy and tender, what can you ask for from a perfect medium rare done steak? Oh! You also have the option to add the summer truffle butter and shaved Tuscan black truffles with just additional charge of A$4.50.

We also ordered the Posh Chips (A$7.50) as side dish which turned out simply lovely. The bowl of chips were garnished with truffle oil and parmesan, delish! Overall, the dinner at Jamie's Italian was really good and thumbs up to all the friendly waiter and waitresses there too!
