Date Night | Plane In The City 2018

Seems like yesterday when everyone starts raving about Dinner In The Sky and now we have the Plane In The City! I mean, it's literally a plane in the city. It got me curious when I first received the email invite to the launching of the Plane In The City and I know I have to go and check it what it is all about!

What do you need to know about Plane In The City?

- Malaysia's first aircraft dining experience was launched at Skyland, Bukit Bintang.

- It is listed in the Malaysia Book of Records as the FIRST Aeroplane Restaurant in Malaysia.

-The first of its kind in Malaysia and endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Plane In The City is a 90-minute experience revolving around an actual Boeing 737 aircraft.

- Passengers will get a chance-of-a-lifetime to do things such as taking a selfie while sticking their heads out of the Pilot's cockpit, walking on the wings of the aircraft, enjoying a fine-dining meal serenaded by today's hit music and many more!

- Ticket sales are now open and will be priced at RM199/pax for the Economy Class, RM399/pax for the Business Class and RM999/pax for the First Class. Book here: www.planeinthecity.com

- Operating with 2x sessions every Tuesday to Thursday, and 3x sessions from Friday to Sunday.

Eric and I went there a week after the grand launch to experience this whole Plane In The City dining experience. As usual, you would need to go through the simple process of checking in and waiting at the departure lounge before boarding the plane. I love how they actually arrange pair by pair to enter the plane, just like how you will be treated as VIPs. Upon entering the plane, you will get to choose to either have fun in the Pilot's cockpit or go for the aircraft wing's walk experience. Don't worry as you will get to enjoy both! I thought both experiences were pretty cool, I mean, it's not normal to be able to walk on the aircraft's wings and taking your time taking your pilot-wannabe photos in the cockpit.

ps: Be sure to wear pants with sandals if you wish to do the aircraft's wing walk! ;)

You will find your name on the screen at your seat and there will be some fun flight departure announcement prior to the food serving.

Each passenger will be served with plain water and orange juice. Of course, they are refillable. Our dinner session started with bread and the German Birchwood Smoked Norwegian Salmon with cereal bread, pickled shallot, gherkin, avocado cream, and ikura. I was so in love with the appetizer and I thought the portion was just right too. It's really delicious and appetizing, perfect start of the meal indeed.

As for the main course, you'll get to choose from the fish, chicken or beef. Eric had the Roasted Cajun & Herbs Chicken and Steamed Fish for myself. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure with the combination of steamed fish with buckwheat noodle. It turned out lovely and it does tastes like your typical Chinese steamed fish with a twist. I loved it. Eric enjoyed his chicken and the duck pudding tasted so good too!

We also had the Vanilla Oreos pannacotta with berries soup and fresh berries for the sweet ending! It tasted soso good, the whole combination just perfect as they complements each other. Truth to be told, the foods served at that night did not disappoint at all. Just so you know that the food aboard aircraft is prepared by a well-known 5-star hotel, Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur.
