Secret Of Louisiana @ Kelana Jaya

Back in KK, I can easily get a place where I can choose to dine by the beach side or lake side or anything. At KL, I hardly found any places like that for me to dine in till I found out this place - Secret of Louisiana. It was a pleasure being invited and dining in with some good friends and most importantly, we get to experience the most authentic Cajun cuisines at here!

Secret of Louisiana
Who would have thought there's a place where you can have a romantic lake side dining experience in Klang Valley? Looking from the outside, this place doesn't seem like a lake side restaurant to me. I was so surprised after entering the restaurant!
Interior
Outdoor Ambiance
It just like other restaurant when you entering it and there you go, you can choose to dine in indoor or outdoor which means by the lake side. I love the romantic ambiance with the many dim lights from light bulbs, it is just so perfect, especially for couple I would say.

Mei Yee and Caroline
Mei Yee and I snapped a picture by a lake side before the foods served. Just so you know that the Secret of Louisiana can accommodate up to 250 diners. A question popped out from my head - What is Cajun cuisine? It is a form of cooking that originated in Louisiana, USA. Do you know that Cajun cuisine is a mix of French, Canadian, African and Native American influences? The Acadian farmers learned to adapt all the local ingredients such as sugar cane, rice and crawfish into a whole new cooking culture when they were made destitute by the British.
Seafood Gumbo ( RM 20.90 )
We were first introduced with the Seafood Gumbo, sauteed assorted seafood with thick creamy sauce, stired in herbs, spice and mozzarella cheese and served with few garlic toast. What a perfect wonderful match we agreed! Though it also can be eaten without garlic toast and taste equally nice! The word gumbo describes a range of stews prepared in South Louisiana, comes from West Africa and means "okra" (ladies finger) , the main ingredient in the stews. The generous portion of this easily enough for 4-5 person to share.

Hawaiian Pizza ( RM 25.90 )
Next dish followed by the Hawaiian Pizza, it simply amazed me with extremely thin crust topped with mozzarella cheese, diced pineapples and turkey ham over rich marinara sauce loaded with mozzarella cheese! It used the wood-fired method and gave the crunchiness with a tad of chewiness for the thin crust , it was good in overall.

Blackened Red Fish with Cajun Vegetables ( RM 39.90 )
Just when we about to guess what comes next, the Blackened Red Fish with Cajun vegetables presented on our table. Blackening is one of the famous cooking method in preparing Cajun cuisines especially for fish. There were mixture of herbs and spices such as thyme, oregano, chili pepper, peppercorns, salt, garlic powder in the red snapper and the Cajun vegetables simply made it looks and taste delicious.

Rack of Lamb ( RM 42.90 )
One of the star dish for the night, Rack of Lamb. What so special about this rack of lamb? It is a special selected New Zealand lamb rack with their special magical Cajun seasoning and honey mustard sauce, chargrilled till medium well and juicy intact. This rack of lamb also served with baked vegetables and green salad which brings more color in presentation. Everyone wished they could have it all by their own, included ME! It is a must try when you happen to visit Secret of Louisiana! Even those who do not like the smell of lamb also love it!
Louisiana Famous Shrimps Scampi ( RM 28.90 )
"Caroline, you will love the next dish", said Elvin. The next dish that served on our table was the Louisiana Famous Shrimps Scampi. The chargrilled large shrimps sauteed with Cajun spice, tomatoes, lemon juice, roasted garlic and parsley. Those fresh shrimps are all from Sabah!!! Can you believe that it still can maintain the freshness and very succulent? Too bad he is not telling me what's the secret of it!

Original American Cheese Burger ( RM 23.90 )
Delicious!
Last but not least, the Original American Cheese Burger which comes with 1/2lb pure ground beef, served thick and juicy on a sesame bun with lettuce, onion rings, tomatoes, capsicum and cheddar cheese. It is definitely a bomb for burger's lover! I guess you going to wish for more after have a bite of the thick and juicy beef patty!
Mei Yee, Caroline, Elvin, Foong and Eric
The night definitely turned out be a wonderful night chilling out with great bunch of peeps. I was tempted to go for their weekdays lunch "Eat All You Can Pasta" @ only RM 14.80+ ! Why?? The buffet is not like the ordinary buffet but each pasta you ordered will be served FRESHLY plate by plate and there's MORE! More as in ice lemon tea, garden green salad, soup, coffee, English red tea, garlic bread, ice cream and 7 choices of pasta for you to choose! Sounds great, isn't it?!
