There's nothing really fancy to talk about the interior setting of Sozo Japanese Restaurant, it features simplicity and a rather minimalistic interior. It's cozy enough for patrons to enjoy their food comfortably. Trust me, they have a really wide selection of dishes in their menu, covering almost every type of Japanese food! I was there with fellow good friends of mine and the 6 of us still not able to try everything in the menu!
But, I thought I could share what we had here!
Potato Salad, Chuka Idako (seasoned baby octopus), Ebi Tempura (fried prawns), Koebi Karaage (deep fried shrimps)
Agetashi Tofu (fried bean curd with sauce), Chuka Hotate (seasoned scallop skin), Miso Soup (made with dashi stock and wakame - Japanese seaweed), Ikura Chawan Mushi (egg custard with salmon roe)
We ordered a few from the list and everything was good! As you can see, everything was served in normal portion, it's impossible for you to try everything in the menu if you're going there alone. The Koebi Karaage can be quite addictive! The Ikura Chawan Mushi definitely better than most of the Japanese restaurant out there.
Unagi Tofu (BBQ eel & fried bean curd with sauce)
I love unagi and this Unagi Tofu is yummy!
Buta Mayo (selected pork slices, onion, assorted vegetables, fried with mayonnaise sauce), Salmon Skin, Shishamo (grilled smelt fish), Mango Soft Shell Crab Salad
Oyster Aburi Carpaccio (fresh oyster with special sauce)
Tako Carpaccio (octopus sashimi with special sauce)
Under the raw meat section, you'll get to enjoy plain sashimi dishes or opt for those with special sauce! These are delicious!
For the sashimi platter section, you'll get to choose how many kind of sashimi you would like to have ranged from 3-6 kind. We basically ordered 3-4 servings of these sushi moriawase, the sashimi were so fresh, thick in slice, and delicious!
Unagi Roll (BBQ eel, tamago, kani stick with teriyaki sauce)
Salmon Mayo Aburi Roll (seared salmon with mayonnaise sauce)
More sushi for us!
Kakuni (stewed pork with Chef's secret recipe)
The kakuni (Japanese stewed pork) were tender and melt in your mouth. So tasty!
Chili Scallop (fried scallop with Chef's special chili sauce)
If you love scallop and enjoy spiciness, give this a try! Eric loved it so much that he ordered another one plate just for himself!
Saba Shioyaki (grilled mackerel with salt)
I love Saba Shioyaki, the good one. This was grilled perfectly!
Ocha Soba (cold green tea noodles served with Japanese dipping sauce)
They also offer various choices on rice and noodles dishes in the menu, ranging from ramen, udon, soba, bento, fried rice, etc!
Assorted ice cream
Enjoy all the ice cream after your meal!
I'm so happy to see yam flavored ice cream here too!
They serves sake too!
You can opt for the Japanese buffet with free flow of sake at RM100++.
