CHeeKS was born out of love of the artist for her elder daughter who is practicing in Melbourne. As a medical personnel, she is always on her feet and so artist mom decided that she should not only have comfortable shoes but pretty ones as well. Needless to say, this doctor is making a statement at her place of work today! The initial pairs were duly shared on social media and by the first month, about 10 pairs were sold!
As an artist, Chee Li Har only turned prolific since 2010, experimenting from very detailed doodle art to large sized drip works. Her annual exhibitions in Singapore and Malaysia evidences her artistic journey as she curiously explores mediums to deliver her inevitable signature circle and infinity lines. In 2015, she founded CHeeKS Casual Couture Shoes where she envisages peole from all walks of life celebrating a small piece of art from her, all at the affordable price of a functional every day item of a pair of shoes. Thus, the tagline "Art Made For Walkin" is born.
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHeeKS shoes?
Just like your other precious pair of shoes, you have to take care of them accordingly. Treat your CHeeKS Casual Couture Shoes as a piece of artwork. Only gentle dry wiping is recommended for the canvas upper, even though the colors are fade-proof and steadfast of archival quality, and water resistant. For the rubber soles, gently wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid wearing in wet or muddy conditions.
