Dove Blogger Event @ The Food Studio

Awesome beauty product + healthy foods = The best combo to stay beautiful! Yours truly attended a very interesting Dove event that we're not there to learn and get to know the new Dove product but also learn to cook and prepare 3 simple healthy meals on the last Saturday.

The event took place at The Food Studio at Amarin Kiara. I'm kinda fell in love with the place, it was so beautiful with amazing view from the top.

New Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture
It's all about the new range of Dove - New Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture - which nourishes better than milk. Our morning was brightened up by lovely host, Chermaine with her wonderful speech to greet all of us on that morning.

It was then followed by product introduction briefing by Tanya Teng (Brand Manager for Skin Cleansing at Unilever (M) Sdn Bhd) and John Goh (R&D Deploy Manager, Home & Personal Care and R&D Site Leader at Unilever (M) Sdn Bhd). 

Tanya Teng - Dove has continuously led innovations in the skin care industry and the introduction of  NutriumMoisturetechnology continuous that tradition. We are thrilled our extensive research and testing has allowed us to be the first brand to minimize lipid damage with a liquid cleanser in order to provide long-term beauty benefits that strengthen and smooth skin.

John Goh - The new technology delivers hydration for skin barrier components and processes to help skin remain healthy and beautiful in the long-term when used daily. This technology represents an important change in the body cleansing paradigm. Body wash products have only tried to mask dry skin damage rather than effectively address it. I don't cook and the both Uni and I was worried about the next session - cooking! Thank God that we were divided into groups and our amazing group were in charged in preparing dessert. Chef Paul started with briefing on what we are going to cook and luckily, he were there all the time to assist and guide us throughout the cooking session.

Our amazing group consists of 5 awesome people with 3 of them who were better in cooking and us (Uni and I) who not so good in cooking? We divided our task brilliantly and the both of us managed to escape from holding the knife. :p


So, I was in charge in stirring the milk mixed with pandan milk which I thought pretty easy of all. Boy, I was wrong. It took forever to boiled. Worst part, I didn't even know how to switch on that electric stove until the Chef came and he was speechless with me. I know, but he said that he can see I have passion in cooking! Seems like he know how I wish to learn cooking badly too. :p

Pour the milk into the glass
Mangoes cubes!
Uni mixing the mangoes with brown sugar and coconut flakes.
Dessert: Pandan Pannacotta with mangoes (25 portions)

Ingredients:
  • 3litre fresh full cream milk
  • 2 bundles of pandan leaves
  • 3 tubs of gelatine
  • 250g sugar
  • 3 pieces mangoes
  • Pandan leaves / coconut flakes for decorating purposes

Method:
  • Add milk in large pot
  • Add pandan leaves
  • Add sugar and stir well
  • Bring to a boil and let simmer for ten minutes
  • Remove from heat and let cool for 2 minutes
  • Stir in the gelatine slowly until dissolved
  • Measure out and fill into glasses
  • Chill, decorate with mangoes, pandan leaves and coconut flakes
  • Serve

Appetiser: Summerset Greens with Avocado and roasted walnuts
We had this Summerset Greens with Avocado and roasted walnuts as appetiser which were done by the first group. All you need to have to prepare this tasty and healthy salad are mixed salad, oranges, medium ripe avocados, cherry tomatoes, carrots and shallots! Mixed them with olive oil, orange juice, white vinegar, salt, pepper and you're done. 

Main Course: Tasmanian Herb Crusted Salmon Filet
As for the main course, the second group has prepare a fabulous Tasmanian Herb Crusted Salmon Filet. What you need to prepare this awesome dish are deboned salmon filet, potatoes, garlic cloves, white onion, cream, butter, Japanese breadcrumbs, olive oil, chopped herbs. Not to forget the olive oil, wasabi paste, salt and pepper too! All of us there were so in love with how it tasted like, the texture of the salmon was tender and soft and enjoyed the bed of awesome mashed potatoes!

Dessert: Pandan Pannacotta with mangoes
Last but not least, our dessert - Pandan Pannacotta with Mangoes! Look at how it was nicely done and decorated. According to Chef Paul, it was great! Too bad that I could not enjoy this as much as I wish, and that also thanks to me being lactose intolerant. As you can see, it's pretty simple to prepare all the healthy and yummylicious dishes! You should try it at home too. :D
