Xiao Lao Wang Hotpot @ Sg. Buloh New Village

Finally I can retrieved back all the photos from my previous laptop that kind of take forever to be fixed by the Dell technician. Anyway, I don't wish to rant about their services but let's just talk about everyone's favourite topic - FOOD! I love to get together with friends and catching up with each other over a meal, be it breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or supper. One of the perfect get together meal type would be - steamboat session! Don't you agree with me?

Xiao Lao Wang Hotpot
The time that we went and had our steamboat session at Xiao Lao Wang Hotpot was when they just opened less than 1 or 2 weeks time but the crowds at there were surprisingly not bad. You can see family members and friends on few tables and enjoy their steamboat session.

What's the specialty at here? It would be their signature soup bases - (1) Pork Bone & Stomach with Chicken Soup and (2) Salmon Head with Tomato Soup

The first thing we did were choosing and creating our very own recipes of sauces/spices for dipping, without realising that Xiao Lao Wang prepared 3 different recipes for dipping sauces for their guests to try on! Seems like they are not stingy on sharing recipes with us! :p Of course, you can always DIY yourself that suit to your liking.

Mushroom Combo

The variety of ingredients/side dishes offered by Xiao Lao Wang was amazingly a lot! You can choose from the raw vegetables to various meat slices to seafoods and more! What we had that night were - Pork Neck Slice (RM10.90), Beef Sirloin Slice (RM13.90), Kampong Chicken (RM10.90), Smoked Duck (RM8.90), Luncheon Meat (RM8.90), Bacon (RM8.90), Scallop (RM11.90), Tiger Prawn (RM12.90), Oyster (RM11.90), Live Mud Crab (RM23.90), Japan Squid (RM16.90), Fried Salmon (RM8.90), Beef Ball (RM9.90), Fish Ball (RM5.90), Seafood Taufu (RM5.90), Fish Paste with Tobiko (RM8.90), Prawn Paste (RM8.90), Chicken Paste (RM7.90), Pork Tendon Ball (RM8.90), Pork Stomach (RM8.90), Pork Kidney (RM6.90), Pork Liver (RM4.90), Lotus Root (RM5.90), Enoki Bacon Ball (RM9.90) and Mushroom Combo (RM15.90). I guess there are more that I could not remember. >.<

[Hong Kong] Twin Chinese Sausage Rice
Double Liver & Smoked Duck Rice
Apart of the side dishes above, we also tried these two types of claypot rice - (1) [Hong Kong] Twin Chinese Sausage Rice and (2) Double Liver & Smoked Duck Rice. My favorite would be the [Hong Kong] Twin Chinese Sausage Rice not only for its fragrant claypot rice but also for the flavorful of the entire claypot rice. Perhaps due to yours truly never fancy the taste of liver and that's the reason am not so into the Double Liver & Smoked Duck Rice.

We ended our steamboat session with Snow Beer! It was my first time to try on it and it was quite unique where the glass were all frozen in the fridge and you can see the snow ice floating on the beer once it was poured into the frozen cold glass.

As you can see, you can have plenty of choices to choose from at Xiao Lao Wang Hotpot! Small Hot Pot (A-RM23.80 / B-RM20.80) or Medium Hot Pot (A-RM42.80 / B-RM38.80 / C-RM46.80) or Big Hot Pot (A-RM62.80 / B-RM62.80).
