The Holy month of Ramadan is approaching us so close and with just a blink of eyes, it's just few days away. This is the month of fasting for Muslims which will continue for 30 days. When it's time to break fast (buka puasa), it is always better to get together with everyone, the more the merrier! This time around, Checkers Cafe at Dorsett Regency Hotel, Kuala Lumpur will be having an interesting Ramadhan buffet themed "Selera Bersama Jaafar Onn" that will be featuring the famous and talented Celebrity Chef Jaafar Onn with renowned singer Haiza.

Upon entering Checkers Cafe, we were greeted with an array of buffet that loaded with authentic Malay cuisine, we just do not know where to start by then. The exquisite selections ranging from Gado-Gado, Kerabu Nangka Muda, Pasembor Penang, Kerabu Udang Su'un as well as the traditional sambal food fare such as Sambal Belacan, Budu, Cincaluk and Sambal Tempoyak. There's also various selection of main course - Balitong Masak Lemak Chili Padi, Pari Masak Assam Pedas, Sambal Tumis Udang Petai, Kerutup Daging, Bubur Lambok, Nasi Bokhari, Udang Masak Tomato, Ikan Keli Masak Tempoyak and many more. Just so you know that, the items on the Ramadan Buffet menu will be changing daily to keep the menu exciting and fresh.

As for the desserts, it is absolutely something you could not resist from! Apart from the Hazelnut Chocolate Pudding, Bread Butter Pudding, Bubur Nangka, Bubur Kacang Hijau Berdurian, Pulut Mangga, Banana Pudding, Serawa Pisang, various selection of Malay kuih and Nyonya kuih, the Kek Budaya would be my favorite for the night! The Kek Budaya Dorsett is the new cake creation of Dorsett Regency Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, layered with vanilla sponge, homemade fermented glutinous rice and royal custard filling is best to served chill. Though I really do not know what to expect on how it taste, but it is really something! Surprisingly good and love the jelly texture of it.
